Introduction:

Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership (MEAP) provides a range for services for older and disabled people such as:

  • Assessments for independent living equipment
  • Fast-track delivery of any equipment identified
  • Provision and installation of minor adaptations
  • Provision and installation of major adaptations
  • Rehousing to a more suitable property
  • Administration of the Blue Badge Disabled Parking scheme

All of the above services are to help people maximise their independence and, more importantly, to keep them safe and prevent falls. For example, many people are at risk on the stairs and we offer a range of solutions to help minimise falls in this area of the home:

  • Extra stair rails or grab rails in key areas
  • Stairlifts (if you meet the criteria)
  • Rehousing to a one level property

Referral criteria:

Anyone who is resident in Manchester is entitled to request an assessment. We do not have ‘eligibility criteria’ for the assessment service.
